Sherri Shepherd
Sherri Shepherd is an American comedian, actress and author. She is also a television celebrity who is known for being co-host of the popular daytime talk show "The View," as well as for her appearances on a number of popular sitcoms.Shepherd was born on the 22nd of April 1967, in Chicago, Illinois. She is the daughter of LaVerne Shepherd and Lawrence Shepherd. Her father served as a deacon in the church where the family worshipped and worked as a restaurant manager while her mother cleaned homes. Shepherd is the oldest of the three children. She attended Hoffman High School.While working as an attorney's secretary in Beverly Hills, Shepherd began performing stand-up comedy. After being chosen for "Cleghorne", a short-lived comedy show about entertainment, Shepherd decided to leave her job to pursue a career as entertainer. The show aired for a single season on The WB network in 1995. Shepherd was forced to quit the show in 1995 due financial problems. She stayed on for one year with her family while she sought jobs. In 1996, Shepherd was cast as an actress on "The Jaime Foxx Show," a sitcom that Jaime Foxx created. This show aired for only one season on The WB network. She also landed the recurring roles on "Suddenly Susan" and "Everybody Loves Raymond" in the late 1990s.
